matcha + strawberry: the perfect match(a) 🍰

I'm excited to share this week's feature recipe—a dreamy new dessert that brings together the best of both worlds: sweet and earthy, light and rich. It's a strawberry and vanilla matcha cream cake, and it's perfect for any occasion.

This cake is easy to whip up, with a tender crumb thanks to the mix of Greek yoghurt and almond meal. And the jam swirl adds just the right amount of sweetness without overwhelming the cake.

But the real star is that luscious matcha cream cheese frosting. 😍 It’s smooth, slightly tangy, and has just the right amount of matcha to keep things interesting. It’s topped with thinly sliced strawberries for a dessert that’s as pretty as it is delicious.

🍰 Strawberry & Vanilla, Matcha Cream Cake

Matcha and strawberry: the perfect match(a). This cake is perfect for any occasion, whether you’re serving it at a small gathering or enjoying it with a cup of tea. It's also on the smaller side, comfortably serving 8.

If you don’t have access to matcha or prefer not to use it, simply replace the matcha powder with vanilla in the frosting, as mentioned in the recipe notes. You’ll still end up with a beautiful vanilla and strawberry cake. But if you do have matcha, I highly recommend using it—the flavour pairing is just so good.
