a smashed pav you can't mess up 🥭
plus, festive florentines + this week's things I'm loving (this fancy sponge holder)
It's the last day of November 😱 and nearly my fav month of the year. I'm here with some delicious festive recipe inspiration to elevate your holidays, 'as we ring in the season' ⛄️ (hello Frozen reference). Kicking off with today's new recipe feature: Roasted Hazelnut, Almond and Sour Cherry Florentines. You HAVE to add these to your Christmas baking list. They're perfect for sharing or gifting throughout the year, but especially during Christmas, and can effortlessly add a festive touch to your table.

🍒 Roasted Hazelnut, Almond & Sour Cherry Florentines
Here's my take on a popular classic holiday cookie that you just have to try. These chewy and fruity treats feature a delicate blend of roasted nuts, tart cherries, and a touch of chocolate. They're thin, crispy, and have a delicious toffee-like flavour.
Mango, Lime & Toasted Coconut Smashed Pavlova with White ChocolateA stunning dessert, perfect for the festive season. And the great thing about a ‘smashed pav’ is you really can't mess it up. | Cinnamon, Cardamom & Vanilla ScrollsSoft, pillowy, and gooey scrolls - I love making these at this time of year, then enjoying them warm from the oven. |
Butter Lettuce, Avocado & Sesame Salad with Creamy Ginger Green DressingOne of my fav simple sides, featuring sweet and soft butter lettuce with creamy avocado. Then it's all about that creamy ginger green dressing. You can find this + many others inside my new SALADS eBook. | Fruit Mince PiesBiased, I know, but these are the BEST texture-filled fruit mince pies. Bursting with flavour and the perfect mix of spices. I use good-quality store-bought pastry to make things quick and easy. |
These Christmas Pudding Truffles - a fav this time of year. You can't go wrong with Haigh's. They add the perfect festive touch to your Christmas table or make a great gift. Also, the milk chocolate freckles - so good!
This fancy Sink Magnetic Sponge Holder - love an organised kitchen sink area. We also found a less-fancy $6 version on AliExpress. Also, these kitchen sponges and scourers - taking the dish sponge up a notch.
These cookbook or tablet stands are a great way to prop up a recipe on your benchtop. I found a version from WestElm and Temple & Webster.
Stocking up on some new classic cotton poplin shirts - love the Everyday Stripe Shirt by Assembly Label 👌🏻.
Love these Roma Heirloom Tomato Candles by Flamingo Estate - a beautiful gift idea. Mecca also stocks them here in Aus.
A few years ago, we switched from a real Christmas tree to an artificial one and were recommended the brand Balsam Hill. We purchased the BH Norway Spruce in a Christmas in July sale and love it!

Thanks for reading! In the next week or two, I'll also be dropping four or so new salad recipes and the recipe for my Lemon and Vanilla Shortbread Bars. Until then, have the best weekend, and I'll chat to you all soooon.
PS: My one-year-old is at Nan and Pop's today, and I've just learned that he has somehow tipped over their large Christmas tree, and half the delicate decorations are now in multiple pieces on the floor. 🤦♀️ Fun times!
